Closing down of Nick Nacks at the Old Wing, 1 Utama Shopping Centre in 2004

.

In early 2004, we decided to close down Nick Nacks at the Old Wing in 1 Utama Shopping Centre and relocate to the New Wing in the same mall.

With the relocation, Nick Nacks decided to change to a new image, a new concept and reemerge with a new name - TOKO.

The Birth of NICK NACKS ...

.

Nick Nacks in 1 Utama Shopping Centre (Old Wing)

Nick Nacks started out in Lot S62A at the Old Wing of 1 Utama Shopping Centre, PJ, in early 1994, introducing a line of sterling silver jewelery and Native American accessories that were most unique, especially during that happy era. Over time, Nick Nacks continued to expand its products range by adding handmade jewelery, fashion apparel, leather goods and home decorative items that were truly fresh in the market and attracted quite a steady following in the KL/PJ community and beyond.

What Nick Nacks was most noted for, apart from the "Red Indian stuff" that many were fond to remember, was our jewelery handcrafted from sterling silver and genuine semi-precious stones. Design styles varied and ranged from traditional, ethnic to modern. The product line included rings, bracelets, pendants, bangles, necklaces and ear-rings for both men and women.

We think Nick Nacks has a special place in many people's hearts and memories, especially for those who grew up with us. This blog is to reconnect with all of you who do and also our new found friends and fans whom we hope will be many.
